Usain Bolt Has Confirmed He Will Race the 100 Meters in Ostrava at End of June

The IAAF announced on Tuesday that Usain Bolt will race the 100 meters at the Ostrava Golden Spike event, part of the IAAF World Challenge series, in the Czech Republic on June 28.

This would likely be Bolt's second race of his final season. His season debut is scheduled for Saturday at the Racers Grand Prix in Kingston, Jamaica. This will be Bolt's ninth time competing in Ostrava. He has raced the 100 meters five times, the 200 meters three times and once over 300 meters, all of them wins.

Bolt is the eighth 2016 Olympic champion to confirm entry in the Ostrava Golden Spike meeting. The others include Great Britain's Mo Farah (10,000 meters), South Africa's Wayde Van Niekirk (300 meters), Christian Taylor (triple jump), Germany's Thomas Rohler (javelin), Poland's Anita Wlodarczyk (hammer), Kenya's David Rudisha (1,000 meters) and Kenya's Conseslus Kipruto (3,000-meter steeplechase).
